Last Day, Last Post

Well, we made it through the last day of school - also known as the hardest day of Mme Katie's year.  There were tears, warm hugs, and thoughtful cards and gifts.  It has been such a fantastic year in our classroom.  I've been so amazed by this group of little learners.  It is difficult to say goodbye to such keen, kind, and helpful students. It has been my pleasure to spend this time with you all.  Good luck in Grade 1 and enjoy your summer!

P.S. Coco la chenille turned into a butterfly!  She grew with us for 186 days of school and now she's ready to fly on her own.

Planting our Kindergarten

Here are some pics of us planting our plants in our KinderGARDEN.

Signatures and Shark Days

To help our friends remember us, we each signed our autograph in each of the 20 portfolios!

We also squeezed in a mini shark unit.  We learned about the different types of sharks and chose one to shape our shark tooth necklace.

The next day we made shark chomper puppets and finished our shark tooth necklaces.

Butterfly Crafts and Guinea Pigs

We made caterpillar and butterfly crafts to celebrate the end of our butterfly unit.

We said goodbye to our little guinea pigs, Rose and Violette.  They went to Madame Katie's house for the summer.  They have a giant cage where they eat fresh grass and vegetables every day.  If you look closely, you'll see the baby bunnies that come to visit them each day.

Cleaning Days!

Your sweet kids have been helping to clean and prepare the classroom for our new kindergarten students. Here are some of them in action:

Outdoor Education Challenge - Activity Day

Outdoor Education Challenge - Wind and Air

Today we read a story about the wind and then made kites.  The best part was flying them in the wind.
