WE LOVE POLAR BEARS!

We started our polar bear study

We painted snow with water-colours. The snow soaks up the colour beautifully and is another neat way to explore snow and ice.

We did some planning for the arctic habitats that we will be building.  We looked at pictures, made a list, and drew our plans in our science journals.

We created our arctic habitats for our polar bears. After much planning and discussion, we were excited and ready to begin. We invited our reading buddies to come help us with the gluing and they turned out beautifully.

Winter Walk

On Thursday, we learned a bit more about winter and went for a Winter Walk. We talked about some of the things we hoped to find on our walk and we made a list. The kids were going to look for deer, animal tracks, and ’naked trees’.

Animal tracks - the kids were SURE they were from polar bears!

 Naked trees!
